An astute author
once cryptically
uttered –

Blunt is the blade
to the punch of
a prolific pen

Slugger.

Turns of phrases
easily bear daggers
in hand −

That jab at the heart
or slither into the
slope of the back.

They frenzy through
a chat like voracious,

Piranhas –

Or hide themselves
in the sweet notes
of pleasing to hear

Sonatas.

Whether such words
swoop down to pierce
with their fangs −

Like
a bat
in the night,

Or slide themselves
pridefully as the ring
does on the vain bride −

Their dreamy effects
easily turn to nightmares −

No hope for
the bitten
in sight!

So be careful
if you partake
in life’s chocolate box

Of proverbs
and parleys,

Of niceties
and sayings,

You will find
yourself bogged
in a swamp of
falseness ‒

Your feet are
unable to ever

Wade.

In this hour the
clock hands cannot
devour  –

The lasting power
of what your
voice has
to say.

This nation,
no longer
poor of speech
or language liberation –

Is graced
by the bank
of your

Benevolence,

Financed solely
through divine
intervention.

The noble class
you come from
is neither socialite
or elite –

You are not the
cold celebrity or
airheaded athlete,

Your status bears
only one true name:

Humanity.

If such a rank
singles you out
then let it be so –

Queen of souls,

Let the fire of
your heart
set the world
and the infinite
beyond

Aglow.

Quaked is the pearly
kingdom by the land’s
oldest scar –

A blemish that has
long marred since
the days of

Noah’s
Ark.

Wisdom can no
longer be

an aversion
or an
allergy –

That humanity,
slaps aside
with each and
every prayer −

Wishing to be blessed
with purses of coin rather

than enlightenment’s billionaire.

No − the death of ignorance
will not be through

Weighty words or the
Sunday School
verse,

An auspicious millennium
or technology’s
mirth,

It will be at the hands
of each newborn youth −

Choosing between
the hell of now or a
paradise forsook.

House of My Wants

Nomad am I, ever to drift
the boundless seas ‒

Wanderlust being my illness
of which I seek no vaccine.

To be complacent in a
shelter of bricks and steel,
is no more than

A
Heavy
Metal
cage to me.

No, no ‒ I will not be
the warden of my soul!

If I am to be prisoner let
it be to a house of my wants,

A
Home
to my needs.

For I am no Stoic ‒
I am an Epicurean of glee.

Whose to say I’ll even
stay within the confines
of this time,

Following the line of
the downtrodden
and depressed ‒

Bearing with Eternal Tragedy.

All I want to ask
dear inquirer:

Will you take
the journey
with
me?

Thrust on the stage ‒

A new bird stretches
his wings in a
dizzying routine.

With heart and soul,
he tweets his
seducing
swing ‒

Wishing it
to be more than
a fleeting memory,

To a crowd whose
limbs blur together
in the like of a
Centipede.

Disparagers haw him:

“Poor is the pop
in his shaky
steps,”

“Fizzled worse than
lukewarm soda
is his delivery,
at best,”

But “Quit” is the
phrase which he
refuses ‒

To sear
him yet.

Instead he feeds
off the sweet tang
of jubilation ‒

Rising from each
ovation ‒

To which he thanks
those who inspired
him to believe,

That Success
lies above the

Weighted Words
of jealous
screed.

You serve as
something more
than a role model
to me –

All you ask is that
I choose who I

Wish
to
be.

From ’89 to 2011
you have been
with me

Through the arduous
paths of ‒

Hell
And
Heaven.

My power forward
during these
dark days,

My head linesman
guarding me from
the hate,

Your protection
solid as a shield ‒

Yet
softer
than
lace.

Regardless if
my dreams are
ghost towns,

You imbue them
with the life
and laughter of ‒

Error of Your Terror

Tyrannous tyrants standing
straight and tall ‒ are cut
easier than grass blades,

Their monuments crumble
and fall.

Werewolves in your vile
acts, innocent sheep
bleat as they flee ‒

But you are no more
than empty emperors,

Hiding

behind
subjects
cowardly.

Weaseling words of
hate and aggravation,

Will lead to no Amens
when you reach your ‒

Damnation.

You are no Sheikhs
of Abbottabad ‒

nor worthy of
the title Khan,

Your fates were
Sealed ‒

As soon as the fuse
drew out from the
bomb.

Vamanos, Aloha, Adieu ‒

Dissolution to
the Pollution
spread by
YOU.
